Which Concealer Is The Best?

Spots, dark circles, blemishes..

Most of us have them or some imperfection we don’t want the world to see. Whether it be hormonal acne or the big dark bags under your eyes from the night before, they can make us feel self conscious and paranoid everyone is staring at you.

Truth is, no one is even looking and they’re too busy with what their doing to notice a stranger’s spotty chin.

However, looking good on the outside makes us feel good on the inside and having the illusion of good skin really polishes a look. I’ve evaluated a bunch for you for every budget so you can find the perfect concealer for you.

NYX HD Studio Concealer Wand in CW01– £6.00 Boots

After trying out other products from the NYX range I decided to give the concealer a try and I’m so glad I did. It concealed the purple bags under my eyes well and was so easy to blend without leaving my foundation looking patchy. My eyes and skin were brightened and left me looking fresh and awake.

Coverage:  8/10

Blendability:  8/10

Brightness:  8/10

Value: 9/10

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Wand in Vanilla– £24.00 ASOS

After watching dozens of YouTubers talk about this concealer I gave in and purchased it (even though the price did make me wince a little). The concealer definitely brightens your eyes and gives you flawless looking skin. My only negative would be the product didn’t last very long and for £23.00 I would hope after a couple weeks I wouldn’t be scrimping in the tube for the last bit of product.

Coverage: 9/10

Blendability: 8/10

Brightness: 10/10

Value: 6/10

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 10 Light– £5.99 BootsIMG_0556.JPG

After my NARS concealer had finished I was on the lookout for a dupe, as I wasn’t prepared to fork out £45 a month on two sticks of concealer. I came across the Maybelliene Fit Me concealer. This had been so hyped up in the reviews I had read so I was eager to try it. The coverage is pretty decent but I didn’t find it worked as well as the NARS and wouldn’t call it a “dupe” as per say. I wouldn’t repurchase this as I like my concealer to be brightening.

Coverage: 7/10

Blendability: 8/10

Brightness: 5/10

Value: 8/10

Freedom Pro HD Conceal Kit in Light-Medium– £10.00 Superdrug

This concealer palette is the whole package when it comes to hiding blemishes. The green colour cancels out any redness, as you can see it’s the most used. The yellow shades counteract any purpleness in the skin and can help cover bruises. Pink shades help to brighten a dull complexion on fair skin and the orange colours will help to neutralize any blue undertones in the skin. This kit works best under foundation as it is very pigmented and provides a good base for your make up.

Coverage: 9/10

Blendability: 5/10

Brightness: 10/10

Value: 9/10

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair– £4.19 BootsIMG_0531

This little wand is a miracle worker! I can’t believe it’s only £4! It covers all the little imperfections and brightens my under eyes beautifully. I would definitely call this a dupe for the NARS radiant concealer and at just a fraction of the price, what’s not to love?

Coverage: 9/10

Blendability: 8/10

Brightness: 9/10

Value: 10/10

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in CW15- £18.00 MAC

When I first took off the lid and realised it was a pump applicator I was a bit disappointed, I find the wands much easier to apply concealer and less wasteful as I’m always squeezing too much out. Putting that aside, the MAC concealer was very brightening and blended very well.

Coverage: 7/10

Blendability: 9/10

Brightness: 9/10

Value: 7/10

Lottie Got It Covered Concealer in Shell– £4.99 ASOS

Overall, this was a pretty decent concealer. The coverage was good but I didn’t feel as if this brightened under my eyes. I wouldn’t repurchase this as I don’t like the brush applicator and the colour was too orange for me.

Coverage: 7/10

Blendability: 8/10

Brightness: 5/10

Value: 7/10

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory– £5.49 Boots

This was the first concealer I had ever purchased all them years ago. As for the packaging, I know it’s not important in terms of how well it covers but the orange lid seems a bit childish and not very sleek which is how I like my products to look. The concealer itself felt quite thin and liquidy which meant the coverage wasn’t good.

Coverage: 4/10

Blendability: 8/10

Brightness: 6/10

Value: 6/10

The winner is… the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

As well as being a match for the higher end concealers in terms of brightness and coverage, this little gem is only £4.19! You can buy 5 of these for the NARS concealer and still have change for a coffee.
