Suffering with the holiday blues, when I got back to the UK I went on a bit of a spending spree that went on for about a week. Now, your girl loves to shop but this was a bit excessive, even for me. Thankfully, however, I’m back to my usual self and trying to watch the pennies, for a little while at least. As I managed to gather a fair amount of new products, I thought I would show you all what I picked up. If you would like a review on any of these, don’t hesitate to ask in the comments.
Let’s first start with the makeup, that’s why you’re all here, right? Whenever a store emails me offering a 20% discount, I immediately jump on their website. It’s bad I know, I’m so lured in (something I’m going to work on). If it makes it any better, the only item I paid full price on was the Primark Highlighter which was £2.50. So you know, every cloud and all o’ that.
Tanya Burr Jingle & Mingle Night Palette- This was such a bargain! You get a lip , a nude eyeliner, a silver glitter pot, 3 eyeshadows and a bronzer which all come in a lovely box with a large mirror. It had lots of great reviews too so I couldn’t pass it up. I paid £4.50 from Feel Unique but at the time of writing this post, they have changed the price to £7.20. Although Superdrug are selling it for £4.99. The palette would make a fab present coming up to the winter months. Or like me, keep it for yourself.
Kat Von D Mini Lock It Setting Powder- I want to branch out and try new setting powders, as I picked up the wrong shade of the Laura Mercier one in Sephora (giveaway here), I wanted to try the Kat Von D one. Debenhams are selling a mini version of this for £10.00 which is great way to trial new products. I picked this up when they were offering a 15% discount so just paid £8.50.
PS… Mink Pink Highlighter- This was such an impulse purchase, I swatched it in store, checked the price and grabbed it. For £2.50 I couldn’t pass up a gorgeous looking product. I’m always looking for new products to review.
L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick– A gorgeous dark nude lipstick with stunning gold packaging. L’Oreal just kill it with the packaging, their products rival higher end designer makeup.
L’Oreal Color Riche Lip Liner– Teamed with the Color Riche lipstick, this nude lip liner makes for a lovely nude lip. I have several of these liners already but go through them quickly.
Benefit Badgal Bang Mascara– With this month’s Elle magazine, you get a free mini mascara from benefit. There is 3 of their most loved mascaras to choose from. I went for Badgal Bang because it’s the newest and I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. The magazine is still on sale and costs £4.50.
MAC Lipstick In Blankety– I’ve had this shade Blankety in my wish list for a while and when Debenhams were offering 15% off, I just had to get it. It’s the perfect nude shade. I can’t wait to wear this.
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette– When I was in B & M I saw this beauty for £6.99 which is crazy because it’s still in other stores selling for £17.00. Not one to pass up on a bargain, I added it to my basket. You get 8 different shades of blush which would suit all skin tones.
NYX Big & Loud Lash Primer– Using a mascara primer always seemed a bit of a gimmick to me, until I actually used one and let me tell you, it doubled the length of my lashes with just one coat of my regular mascara! I decided I needed to purchase another and this one from NYX took my fancy as it was affordable and had good reviews.
Rimmel Brow This Way Gel– Nearly out of my usual brow gel, I picked up this one from Rimmel because it claimed to have argan oil. My brows are a taupe shade but I like my gels lighter so they don’t make my brows look so dark.
The amount of skincare I have is ridiculous, I have products for pretty much everything and then some. However, I’m lacking the basic skincare I use all the time so had to pick up some daily moisturisers as I was running out. Of course, these were all discounted in one way or another too.
Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream– To be honest, I didn’t have many high hopes for this cream as it was on sale for only £2.05 but oh my bloody goodness, it’s incredible. I put this on my face at night and I woke up with glowing skin, the only different thing in my routine was this cream.
Olay Anti- Wrinkle Instant Hydration Night Cream– I brought this Olay night cream also as I didn’t think I would like the Nivea one. I’ve not tried this yet but it’s currently less than half price at £4.89 on Superdrug. I’m a big fan of Olay creams though so I’m sure I’ll love it.
Olay Anti- Wrinkly Pro Vital Day Moisturiser– In need of a day time moisturiser, I picked up this Olay one. It has SPF 15 in which is so handy as you don’t necessarily need to add sun cream aswell. Just like the night cream, this is also less than half price.
Nip + Fab Tummy Fix– Last but not least I picked up the Nip + Fab Tummy Fix which claims to help break down fat cells for a tighter tum and more defined abs. Pure curiosity was the motive behind this purchase as I wanted to see if it would actually work. Fingers crossed. This was in my local TK Maxx for £3.99 which is so cheap compared to the regular retail price.
Those were my recent beauty purchases, along with a few other bits like beauty sponges, deodrant, shampoos, etc. I think this will be my last major haul for a while because I really need to get through some stuff before I start buying anymore. I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading XOXO.
